RATING DISTRIBUTION
How many playable editions sit in each Classic tier band across this board.
90+ BY POSITION
Elite (90+) edition counts by role — GK and DF are scarcer than FW.
Draft tip: lock elite keepers and centre-backs early. Attackers reappear more often.
BEST PLAYERS BY POSITION
Role boards most guides skip. GK and DF scarcity is why pick order matters more than stacking forwards.
S–C TIER BOARD (PEAK EDITIONS)
Cards show each player’s peak World Cup edition. Expand multi-edition careers to compare every year in the database.
MULTI-EDITION CAREERS
Same name, different World Cup — Messi 2022 is not Messi 2010. Sparklines show how Classic ratings move across tournaments.

DRAFT PICK ORDER
Solve constraints first. Here is the pick order wired to this tier board — with the exact editions to memorize.
1. Goalkeeper first
Elite keepers are scarce. Neuer 2014 (95), Buffon 2006 (92), Martínez 2022 (90), Kahn 2002 (89), Casillas 2010 (88), Dida 2002 (86) — lock them before luxury attackers.
2. Centre-backs before flair
Weak central defence ruins S-tier forwards. Prioritize Beckenbauer 1974, Cannavaro 2006, Thuram 1998/2006, Maldini 1994, Puyol 2010, Hummels 2014.
3. One control midfielder
Stabilize the sim with Xavi/Iniesta 2010, Zidane 2006/1998, Pirlo 2006, Busquets 2010, Matthäus 1990, Modrić 2018 before the last attacking slot.
4. Forwards last (unless undeniable)
Famous attackers are easier to remember after the spine is set. Only jump early for Pelé 1970, Messi 2022, Maradona 1986, or R9 2002 when the slot is open.
HISTORICAL CASES THAT TEACH BETTER DRAFTING
Use structure, not highlight reels — teaching cases backed by ratings on this page.
Brazil 1970
Pelé 99 headlines, but Carlos Alberto, Rivelino, and Jairzinho decide whether the XI is a real squad or a forward pile.
Argentina 1986
Maradona 97 is the engine. Valdano, Burruchaga, Ruggeri, and Pumpido decide if the run feels balanced.
France 1998
Zidane is central, but Barthez + Thuram + Desailly are the foundation that survives knockouts.
Spain 2010
Possession is the point. Skip Xavi/Iniesta/Busquets and you miss why that squad works in Classic sims.
Germany 2014
Neuer, Lahm, Kroos, Müller, and the defensive shape create more value together than any single name.
MEMORY TRAPS (WRONG-ERA / UNAVAILABLE)
Legends missing from a given Cup through absence, injury, or non-selection. We list the concrete traps on this board.
Ukraine debuted 2006
USA missed 2018
Not selected for 1986
France missed 1994
Did not play — skip memory trap
Not selected 2018
France missed 1994
Left out of 2018 squad
Portugal missed 1998
JACKPOT ROLLS VS TRAP ROLLS
Big nations in peak years flood 90+ pools; bad years and weak squads punish average.
Jackpot — take almost anything 88+
Trap — wildcard or GK-only
Big shirt, thin peak — check year before you celebrate Brazil.
Famous nation, weak Classic pool vs 1998/2006/2018.
C-tier pool — named fillers only; skip if a wildcard remains.
No reliable 80+ ceiling for most slots.
Draft GK if forced; otherwise burn a reroll.
Hard skip when wildcards remain.
COMMON MISTAKES (FROM FAILED 7-0 RUNS)
Wrong World Cup cycle
Picking a legend who played for the nation but not that edition — the #1 Memory mode soft loss.
All-attack, no spine
Four 95 attackers do not fix a 78 centre-back pairing. Simulation weights lines, not Instagram fame.
Out-of-position GOATs
Pelé at right-back is not Pelé. Slot discount kills effective rating — natural role wins.
Burning wildcards early
Save at least one for late Ghana/Serbia/Paraguay draws when only 2–3 slots remain.
Forgetting the final tier
Knockout finals face legend squads. Defence averaging ~82 rarely closes a true 7-0.
THE RATING DEBATES THAT MAKE 7A0 VIRAL
The game takes sides. Use multi-edition careers above to argue with numbers, not vibes.
- Pelé 1970 (99) vs Messi 2022 (98) — the only max vs the modern champion peak.
- Maradona 1986 (97) vs Maradona 1990/1982 — same name, different card.
- Zidane 2006 (95) vs Cruyff 1974 (96) — midfield Immortals from different eras.
- Ronaldo Nazário 2002 (94) vs Cristiano Ronaldo 2018 (96) — Brazil peak vs Portugal peak.
WHY THE SAME PLAYER CHANGES BY YEAR
In 7a0, a rating is tied to one nation and one World Cup roster — not a career average. Ronaldo Nazário 2002 outranks Ronaldo 2006; Cristiano Ronaldo peaks in 2018, not 2026.
That is why thin S-tier name lists fail you mid-draft. When the dice roll Argentina 2014 instead of Argentina 2022, you need the correct edition, not just “Messi”.
Use the year filter and career sparklines above before Memory mode runs. Era knowledge is the real skill ceiling.
HOW TO USE THIS TIER LIST
In Classic mode, treat this board as your primary decision tool. An S-tier roll is almost always a take unless that slot is already filled by another Immortal.
In Memory mode, ratings are hidden — memorize S and A names plus their peak years before you queue. Wrong-era picks are the #1 soft loss.
Target a squad average above 87 for knockouts. Multiple S-tier legends can push elite runs past 92.
On C-tier rolls (Paraguay 2010, Serbia 2022, Ghana 2010), take the goalkeeper if forced — or spend a wildcard. Named C-tier players on this page show who is actually in those pools.
7A0 TIER LIST FAQ
Who is the best player in 7a0?
Pelé (Brazil 1970) at 99 is the only maximum rating on the Classic scale used by this guide. Messi 2022 (98) and Maradona 1986 (97) follow.
Is this the official 7a0 tier list?
No. seteazero.online is an unofficial fan guide. Ratings are community-calibrated for draft teaching and match the peak numbers used across our squad guides.
Why does Messi have different ratings by World Cup?
Each edition is a separate card. Argentina 2022 is his peak; 2014/2018/2010 are strong but lower. Always read the year on the dice before you lock him.
How often is the tier list updated?
We refresh when the Classic meta or roster coverage shifts (new 2026 squads, balance chatter). Check the multi-edition and by-year sections after major game updates.
What average do I need to win?
Community consensus: below ~85 often dies in the round of 16; 87+ is the knockout baseline; balanced lines beat stacked forwards with a weak spine.
Where do I find team codes and best squads?
