MEMORY MODE GUIDE

De Almanaque — the ultimate test of football knowledge. No ratings, no shortcuts. Just your memory of World Cup history against the draft RNG.

WHAT IS MEMORY MODE?

In Memory mode (called 'De Almanaque' in Portuguese and 'Modo de almanaque' in Spanish), player overall ratings are completely hidden during the draft. You see only the player's name, nation, and World Cup year.

You must rely on your knowledge of football history to know whether Paraguay 2010's goalkeeper is a world-class pick or a disaster waiting to happen.

Reroll Rules in Memory Mode

Classic mode gives you 3 wildcards per run. Memory mode may offer fewer rerolls (reported as 1 by some players). Treat every wildcard as precious — save it for rounds 9–11 when weak nations appear.

EXPERT TIPS

Memorize the Big 10 Squads

Brazil 1970, Argentina 1986, Argentina 2022, Germany 2014, France 1998, Netherlands 1974, Brazil 2002, Spain 2010, Italy 2006, England 1966. Know each squad's GK, two CBs, and best attacker.

Safe Picks from Any Nation

When unsure, draft the goalkeeper. GKs are the hardest position to fill and the most impactful in penalty shootouts. Even from weak nations, the GK is often the safest pick.

Iconic Names = Auto-Draft

Pelé, Maradona, Messi, Cruyff, Ronaldo, Zidane, Neuer, Buffon — always draft these names regardless of whether you remember their exact rating.

Learn Weak Nations

Paraguay 2010, Serbia 2022, Ghana 2010, Honduras 2010, Peru 1978, Senegal 2002 — use your wildcard when these appear late in the draft.

Practice in Classic First

Complete 15–20 Classic mode runs before attempting Memory mode. You'll naturally memorize which nations produce elite players.

SQUADS TO MEMORIZE

Before your first Memory mode run, memorize these must-know squads:

  • Brazil 1970 — Pelé, Jairzinho, Carlos Alberto, Rivelino
  • Argentina 2022 — Messi, Martínez (GK), Romero, Di María
  • Argentina 1986 — Maradona, Valdano, Pumpido (GK)
  • Germany 2014 — Neuer (GK), Müller, Schweinsteiger, Kroos
  • France 1998 — Zidane, Henry, Thuram, Barthez (GK)
  • Netherlands 1974 — Cruyff, Neeskens, Krol

  • Spain 2010 — Casillas (GK), Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol

QUICK SQUAD REFERENCE

Top 4 squads you must never skip in Memory mode:

Brazil 1970

Must draft: Pelé, Jairzinho, Carlos Alberto

Never skip this roll with a wildcard. Pelé alone justifies the pick.

Argentina 2022

Must draft: Lionel Messi, Emiliano Martínez, Cristian Romero

Messi is mandatory. Martínez wins penalty shootouts in the simulation.

Argentina 1986

Must draft: Diego Maradona, Jorge Valdano, Nery Pumpido

Maradona is a one-man army. Always draft him unless the position is filled.

Germany 2014

Must draft: Manuel Neuer, Thomas Müller, Bastian Schweinsteiger

Neuer is the best goalkeeper in the game. Prioritize him over attackers.
