DRAFT STRATEGY

The draft is where World Cup runs are won or lost. Smart picks and perfect wildcard timing separate consistent champions from early exits.

WILDCARD STRATEGY

You receive exactly three wildcards per run. These are your most precious resource. A wildcard lets you skip an unfavorable roll and try again.

NEVER skip Brazil 1970, Argentina 1986, or Argentina 2022
NEVER skip Germany 2014 or France 2006 early in the draft
ALWAYS skip if no player is rated 80+ in Classic mode
ALWAYS save at least one wildcard for rounds 8–11
Skip Paraguay 2010, Serbia 2022, or Honduras 2010 if possible
Skip if every remaining slot is already filled with better players

POSITION PRIORITY

GKCRITICAL

Hardest elite position to fill. A world-class GK wins penalty shootouts.

CBHIGH

Elite centre-backs are rare. Secure Beckenbauer, Cannavaro, or Baresi when they appear.

STHIGH

S-tier strikers are game-changers. Always draft them first.

CMMEDIUM

Creative midfielders like Xavi, Iniesta, or Maradona elevate the entire team.

LB/RBLOW

Full-backs are easier to fill with B-tier players. Don't waste wildcards for them.

SQUAD AVERAGE TARGETS

80–84

Below 80
REBUILD NEEDED

ADVANCED TIPS

Build the Spine First

The goalkeeper, centre-backs, central midfielders, and striker form your team's spine. Secure elite players in these positions before filling wing roles.

Memory Mode Mastery

Memorize the top 10 World Cup squads. Know each squad's goalkeeper, two centre-backs, and best attacker before attempting Memory mode.

Share Code Strategy

After a great run, share your code on social media. Compare results with friends to learn which draft decisions led to tournament success.
